P. L. Johnston escaped the frozen Canadian winters of her childhood by delving into the many worlds of science fiction and fantasy. Reading naturally transitioned into writing.
Johnston spent two years studying translation and intercultural communications, then spent six years in Asia, working in foreign aid. Besides putting her communication skills into daily practice, she rode motorbikes and killed poisonous snakes with blunt objects…all with only a few broken bones and tropical illnesses.
Johnston has written for the sword & sorcery fantasy series Aria DuTère: Realms of Magic. Her next novel, Masks that Glitter, will be published in 2020.
